Is Your Pet Depressed?

It’s difficult to spot depression in our pets, especially if it’s a reptile or an aquatic animal. Take turtles for instance. They don’t exactly have a smile or a frown, they love spending time in their shell, they often only come alive when people aren’t around them, and they like to eat secretly too. The only way to spot depression is by seeing signs that they’re not eating properly or behaving like their normal self (a good owner will know if their usual behaviour changes). This can be the same for more common pets too, like hamsters. Hamsters will spend time in their beds if they’re feeling down, and they may get quite vicious should you take them out of their bed when they’re not in the mood. Make sure you’re take note of the little signs if you suspect your pet may be depressed.
